Arsene Wenger reaffirms Arsenal commitment

Arsene Wenger reiterates his commitment to Arsenal by revealing that he will be in charge at the Emirates Stadium beyond this summer.

Arsene Wenger has reiterated his commitment to Arsenal by revealing that he will be in charge at the Emirates Stadium beyond this summer.

The long-term Gunners boss is yet to officially extend his 18-year spell in North London amid reports that he is waiting to end the club's trophy drought before putting pen to paper.

Wenger's side face Hull City in the FA Cup final at Wembley on May 17, but the 64-year-old says that his future does not hinge on winning the competition.

When asked by Sky Sports News whether or not he will be at the club next season, he said: "Yes.

"I don't know [when I will sign a new deal]. I told you many times that my word is my word. I am from a period where you didn't need a pen to commit.

"It is not linked [with the FA Cup final] at all. It was important to be in the Champions League, that is for sure. I have told you many times it is not linked the fact I feel I am useful."

Everton's defeat to Manchester City on Saturday ensured that Arsenal secured a top-four finish in the Premier League for the 17th successive year under Wenger.
