Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger reportedly identifies Borussia Dortmund attacker Marco Reus as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez.

Borussia Dortmund attacker Marco Reus has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Arsenal.

Arsenal are currently locked in contract negotiations with Alexis Sanchez but it remains unclear whether the club's top goalscorer will remain at the Emirates Stadium past the end of the season.

According to The Telegraph, Arsene Wenger has started to consider alternatives to the Chilean and it is claimed that Reus is at the top of his wishlist.

The German international has frequently been linked with a move to the Premier League, but injury and a willingness to remain in the Bundesliga has resulted in potential moves not materialising over the past two seasons.

However, after the 27-year-old scored four times in six matches on his return from injury, Wenger is weighing up a bid either in January or, more likely, during the summer.
