AC Milan have reportedly joined Arsenal in the race to sign Bayern Munich centre-back Jerome Boateng.
The 31-year-old continues to be linked with a move away from the Allianz Arena, having struggled to secure a regular starting role during the first half of the 2019-20 campaign.
Arsenal are believed to have recently approached the Bundesliga champions to discuss a potential move for the Germany international before the end of the month.
The Gunners are allegedly open to signing the centre-back on a permanent deal, but it is understood that a loan move could also take place during the January window.
According to Sky Germany, Milan are also closely monitoring developments surrounding the defender, and the Italian giants could be ready to challenge Mikel Arteta's side for Boateng's signature.
Bayern are thought to value the former Hertha Berlin youngster in the region of £13m.
