William Saliba 'to return to Arsenal for rest of the season'

William Saliba will reportedly be allowed to train with Arsenal for the rest of 2019-20 after Saint-Etienne's Ligue 1 campaign was brought to a halt.

William Saliba will reportedly be allowed to link up with Arsenal sooner than was initially expected.

As part of his switch to the Gunners last summer, it was agreed that Saliba would spend the campaign at Saint-Etienne in order to gain regular game time.

However, after a season when he has made 18 appearances in all competitions, the decision was made to bring an immediate halt to French football as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Despite the youngster previously not being due at the Emirates Stadium until next pre-season, RMC Sport claims that the centre-back will be able to train with the North London outfit during the closing weeks of this campaign.

However, the 19-year-old cannot make his competitive debut should Arsenal play their remaining 10 fixtures in the Premier League at a later date.
