Southampton are reportedly poised to make a bid for Ajax defender Nicolai Boilesen.
The 20-year-old Danish left-back has been used as a bit-part player at the Amsterdam ArenA recently and has not featured for the Eredivisie giants since appearing as a second-half substitute in the 2-0 defeat to Manchester United in February.
Inter Milan and Arsenal are also said to be keen on Boilesen, but the Saints are ready to gain the initiative in the race for his signature by submitting an offer of £5m, according to The Sun.
Boilesen has been capped twice at senior international level.
