Alex McLeish is confident that he will still be Aston Villa manager next season.

Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish is expecting to still be at Villa Park next season.

The former Birmingham City boss has come under fire from many fans who have been unhappy since his appointment as Villa chief in the summer.

A number of supporters were seen displaying banners and chanting during the draw with Tottenham Hotspur asking for McLeish to be sacked.

Despite some calling for his head, McLeish is remaining positive about his stance as Villa boss.

"It is as tough a season as I've had. I knew it was going to be a challenge but I've always stood up in the face of adversity," said McLeish.

"Randy Lerner has been very supportive, he's sent positive texts in the last few days and there is no indication of an urgent meeting being required.

"I expect to be here next season and hope to win the fans over. In general, the fans have been excellent."

Villa sit 15th in the Premier League table, three points clear of safety with just one game to go.
