Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert praises Gabriel Agbonlahor for his recent goalscoring form.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has praised Gabriel Agbonlahor for his recent form in front of goal.

The 26-year-old forward has scored three times in his last six games for Villa as the club battles against relegation from the Premier League.

"I think he has been excellent," Lambert is quoted as saying by Football365.co.uk.

"I think he's loving his football at the minute, is scoring quite regularly at the moment and when Gabby gets a run at you, there are not many people going to catch him.

"He is playing extremely well at the minute and if we can keep him, Charles N'Zogbia, Christian Benteke and Andreas Weimann fit we've got loads of options up front."

Villa, who are currently in the drop zone on goal difference, continue their fight for survival on Saturday with a trip to Stoke City.
