Aston Villa are reportedly prepared to give manager Steve Bruce two games to save his job at the Championship club.

Steve Bruce has reportedly been given two matches to save his job at Aston Villa.

Bruce and Villa only missed out on promotion to the Premier League last season through defeat in the Championship playoff final, but the West Midlands outfit have struggled to overcome that disappointment.

Villa currently sit in 15th place in the second-tier standings having recorded just three wins in 10 games, and according to The Telegraph, the club's hierarchy have started to consider a change.

The report suggests that failure to defeat either Preston North End or Millwall before the international break would lead to Bruce being removed from his position.

New chief executive Christian Purslow is also said to be in favour of making alterations to the technical setup at Villa Park, a move which could also hinder Bruce's chances of remaining in his role.
