Iker Muniain: 'Champions League qualification for the fans'

Athletic Bilbao forward Iker Muniain thanks the club's supporters after a top-four finish in La Liga was secured.

Athletic Bilbao forward Iker Muniain has thanked the club's supporters following Friday's 3-0 win over Rayo Vallecano in the Spanish capital, which secured a Champions League position for next season.

The result moved Bilbao onto 68 points for the campaign and secured a top-four finish with two league games to spare.

"It was awful watching from the bench, but I'm extremely happy that we reached our objective," Inside Spanish Football quotes the Spaniard as saying.

"We're very happy with the quality we represent and we're happy for the fans; They were crazy! This is for them too. We'll celebrate this just a bit."

Muniain missed the Rayo match through suspension.
