Diego Simeone says that Atletico Madrid will "not take Champions League qualification for granted" despite them nearly being over the line.

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has said that he is pleased with his team's form as they battle for Champions League qualification.

Los Colchoneros beat Granada 5-0 at the Vicente Calderon yesterday to move 11 points clear of fourth-placed Real Sociedad with seven games remaining.

"Once again, my team did a great job," he told reporters. "We played the game that we had prepared for.

"We were forceful, aggressive and intense. In the last 10 games we have lost one, drawn four and won five – I have to be happy with that.

"We won't take Champions League qualification for granted."

Atletico travel to Sevilla for their next fixture on Sunday.
