Fernando Torres: 'Atletico Madrid ready for Barcelona'

Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres says that his team will enter Wednesday's La Liga clash with Atletico Madrid 'full of confidence'.

Atletico Madrid forward Fernando Torres has said that his team will enter Wednesday's clash with Barcelona 'full of confidence' following three successive victories.

Atletico opened their 2016-17 La Liga season with back-to-back draws, but have beaten Celta Vigo 4-0 and Sporting Gijon 5-0 in their last two fixtures in Spain's top flight.

The capital side also started their Champions League campaign with a 1-0 victory over PSV Eindhoven last week, and Torres is relishing next Wednesday's trip to the Spanish champions.

"It's good that all the players can help and also the substitutes," he told beIN Sport. "We have a positive dynamic and it is a good moment to play against Barcelona, which is the most complicated rival that we have played in last few years.

"It's never a good time to play at Camp Nou but it is better to do so when you have confidence. We have found a good streak after those two draws [against Alaves and Leganes] and we started well in the Champions League [a 1-0 win over PSV]. Our confidence is high."

Torres came off the bench to score twice for Atletico against Sporting Gijon at the Vicente Calderon.
