Report: Juventus want Diego Godin

A report claims that Juventus want to sign Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin.

Juventus are reportedly interested in signing Atletico Madrid centre-back Diego Godin in the January transfer window.

The Uruguayan international has developed into one of the best defenders in European football over the last couple of seasons.

Indeed, his form last season helped Atletico win their first La Liga title since 1996 and reach the final of the Champions League.

According to Sportmediaset, Juventus are confident of enticing the centre-back with a big-money move in January, but the Serie A champions will have to meet Godin's release clause, which stands at around £30m.

Godin has a contract with Atletico until 2018.
