Barcelona club president Josep Maria Bartomeu has claimed that the door is open for Pep Guardiola to one day return to the Spanish club.
The 45-year-old won 14 trophies, including three La Liga titles and two Champions League trophies, as Barcelona manager during a four-year spell.
Guardiola, who was also successful as a player at the Catalan giants having won 16 titles, took over at City in the summer after spending three years in charge of Bayern Munich.
"It's normal that he went to the Premier League and I hope that one day he will be back here," Bartomeu told The Telegraph.
"You never know. There are so many people who were at the club, went, came back again. You never know but right now he is concentrating on City. I think he has a three-year contract? We have a match [against City] and we are going there to win."
Barcelona will face the North-West club at the Etihad Stadium in the Champions League tomorrow evening, a fortnight after the Spanish side sealed a 4-0 triumph at Camp Nou.
