Andres Iniesta hails Barcelona's "consistency"

Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta pays tribute to his team's "consistency" following their La Liga success on Saturday afternoon.

Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta has claimed that his side's "consistency" was one of the main reasons for their La Liga success this season.

Saturday's 3-0 win at Granada secured a 24th La Liga crown for Barcelona, who ultimately finished just one point clear of second-placed Real Madrid in a race that went until the final weekend of the season.

Barcelona were criticised for their elimination in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, but Iniesta has insisted that winning the league "can never be a bad season".

"The league is the prize for consistency. We suffered until the very end, but winning six out of eight league titles emphasises a cycle we want to extend," Iniesta told reporters.

"We had a very good advantage [at the top] and our rivals came close [to overcoming it]. In the end, the winners are the best and most consistent team. When you win the league, it can never be a bad season."

Barcelona will attempt to secure a domestic double when they face Sevilla in the Copa del Rey final next weekend.
