Gerard Pique says that Barcelona will continue to fight for the title until the end of the season.

Barcelona centre-back Gerard Pique has said that the club will continue to fight until the end of the season following their 1-0 defeat to Getafe.

The Catalan club, who suffered their first league defeat of the season, are now six points adrift of leaders Real Madrid after Juan Valera's goal proved enough to secure all three points at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

Even so, Pique insists that the team will continue to give it their all for the remainder of the season.

"I'm convinced that the team will give everything they've got to be fighting for the title at the end of the season," he said.

"The league standings show that [Real] Madrid are doing things a bit better this season and we have to turn this situation around. We are Barca and we'll move forward.

"We're disappointed because it was a defeat that wasn't expected. The team did a good job but we didn't take advantage of our chances."

Barcelona will look to bounce back when they travel to Rayo Vallecano on Tuesday.
