Xavi: 'We deserved all three points'

Barcelona midfielder Xavi denies that his side were fortunate to beat Valencia on Sunday.

Barcelona midfielder Xavi has claimed that his side deserved to beat Valencia in their La Liga clash on Sunday evening.

Sergio Busquets scored in the fourth minute of stoppage time to secure all three points, but Xavi believes that the Catalan outfit should have been ahead before the late goal.

"They didn't leave space open at the back, they were aggressive, they played on the counter, but we also knew how to impose our game," he told Barca's official website.

"We had clear chances, and Luis Suarez has told us that his goal wasn't offside, so we deserved to win. We looked for the usual things, Javier Mascherano and Busquets control counter attacks well and stopped everything.

"We controlled things pretty well and made the most of any mistakes they made to create danger."

The result at the Mestalla moved Barca to within two points of league leaders Real Madrid.
