Barcelona, Atletico Madrid 'monitor Roberto Soriano'

Barcelona and Atletico Madrid want to sign Roberto Soriano from Villarreal following the midfielder's impressive start to the season, according to a report.

Villarreal midfielder Roberto Soriano is reportedly a transfer target for both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

The 25-year-old joined Villarreal from Sampdoria in the summer and has impressed during his short time in Spanish football, netting four goals and five assists in La Liga this term.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Barcelona and Atletico are both interested in signing the former Bayern Munich youngster and will register their interest when the January transfer window opens for business.

The eight-time Italian international made more than 140 appearances for Sampdoria between 2010 and 2016 before making the switch to La Liga before the start of the 2016-17 campaign.
