Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are reportedly considering a club-record offer for Barcelona starlet Pedri.
The 18-year-old midfielder signed a new long-term contract with the Catalan club in October, which includes a €1bn (£842m) release clause.
However, AS reports that Bayern are interested in signing Pedri and the player's representatives are aware of the German club's desires to recruit him.
The report adds that the perennial Bundesliga winners are prepared to make the talented teenager the most expensive player in the club's history, by tabling an offer in excess of the €80m (£67.3m) they spent on defender Lucas Hernandez in 2019.
Bayern intend to make enquiries for Pedri in either January or next summer, though a potential move in the winter window is considered less likely.
The midfielder is currently happy at Barcelona and is keen to develop under newly-appointed boss Xavi; however, the Catalan club may be forced to accept a significant offer given their financial predicament.
Pedri, who won the 2021 Golden Boy award on Monday, has made 56 senior appearances for Barcelona since his debut in September 2020, and has also featured 10 times for the Spanish national team.
