Report: Barcelona make Luciano Vietto contact

A report claims that Barcelona are in talks with Villarreal over the signing of Argentine forward Luciano Vietto.

Barcelona are reportedly in talks with Villarreal over a move for Luciano Vietto.

The 21-year-old is currently one of the most sought-after forwards in European football following his exploits this season.

The Argentine has netted 18 goals in all competitions for the Yellow Submarine, whom he joined on a five-year deal from Racing Club last summer.

Liverpool were said to lead the race for the forward, but according to Cadena Cope, Barcelona have opened talks with their Spanish rivals.

As it stands, the Catalan outfit are not able to sign any new players until January 2016 due to their transfer ban, but a deal could be agreed this summer, with Vietto officially making the move next January.

The youngster's release clause currently stands in the region of £30m.
