Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has claimed that Lionel Messi remains happy with life at Camp Nou.
There has been much talk regarding the future of the 32-year-old in recent weeks, with Barcelona being keen to hand the forward 'a career-length contract'.
There are also question marks over whether Messi was left unimpressed with Barcelona's failure to secure a reunion with Neymar during the summer transfer window.
However, Ter Stegen has suggested that the Argentina international is still fully committed to life at the Catalan giants.
The stopper is quoted by the Daily Mail as saying: "He's a key player for us and his level is so high.
"I'm convinced he's really happy in the team, at the club and in the city. I think that any fan would ask for Messi to stay."
Messi is yet to make an appearance this season due a thigh injury sustained at the Copa America.
