Keith Hill wants new faces

Barnsley boss Keith Hill reveals that he has money available to bring new players to the club.

Barnsley boss Keith Hill has admitted that he wants to bring in new players before their home tie with Cardiff City at the weekend.

The Tykes currently occupy 20th spot in the Championship table after 17 games, but Hill has revealed that he has money to spend.

"Recruitment is key. It's brilliant - I've been told I've got money to bring players in. It will protect me, there's no doubt about that," he told the Sheffield Star.

"Money gets you results. But what we're trying to do is the knight in shining armour - here we come on our horse trying to save the financial football world. However, that can't be achieved overnight.

"But time isn't on your side as a football manager. I woke up the other day and thought 'who am I protecting here?' I need to start protecting myself a little bit. The players will always remain whatever happens results-wise."

Hill took charge of Barnsley in 2011.
