Bayern Munich defender Daniel van Buyten has declared that he is confident of winning back his first-team place at the Allianz Arena.
Van Buyten has been blighted by injures since pre-season but returned to make his first start of the campaign in Bayern's 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.
The Belgium international has strong competition for a regular place in Juup Heynckes's side, with Jerome Boateng and Holger Badstuber making a strong start to the season.
He told Goal.com: "In attack, surely I have certain qualities and can help the team. You could see that against Eintracht Frankfurt. I had two good chances.
"It's a good problem for the trainer to have. For us, it's a fight. But in a positive way. Everyone wants to have success. We didn't win anything in the last two years.
"For us, it means that we have to do well in training. You cannot start with 20 players. The coach makes his choice and you simply have to keep on fighting until you get there. I don't think that anyone will give up, I certainly won't. I'm happy about being fit again. Now I have to step on the gas."
Bayern are seven points clear at the top of the Bundesliga after winning 10 of their first 11 league matches.
