Birmingham City defender Aaron Martin has revealed that he feels "privileged" to have been given a chance to prove himself at St Andrew's.
Martin has moved to the West Midlands until the end of the season, and while he is disappointed that his spell with hometown club Southampton came to an end, he has revealed that he is grateful to be handed an opportunity by manager Lee Clark.
The 24-year-old told the Birmingham Mail: "It was frustrating. Obviously I love the club, it's where I'm from as well. It was a bit disappointing to leave and the way it happened.
"But for me, now, it is more important to play games and move on in my own career. It is just a massive opportunity for me here. It is a privilege to be at a club like this, for this to have come along for me.
"I just want to play as many games as I can. There were a few offers coming in, but I have always liked Birmingham. It is a huge club, a great club to be at. It was a definite choice to come here."
Martin has made three appearances in the Championship since his move at the end of January.
