Birmingham City midfielder Andrew Shinnie has spoken of his delight at a recent run of form that has seen him gain a prominent place in the club's starting XI.
The 25-year-old had previously been out of favour under former boss Lee Clark, but the Scottish playmaker has now become a vital cog in Gary Rowett's midfield.
"There were times when I was not even in the squad which was really annoying and frustrating but that was the way it was going," Shinnie told the Birmingham Mail.
"I'd be out with my girlfriend during the day or watching the scores come in or sitting in the stands and it was frustrating because I'm a football player and you want to be playing as much as you can, so I was thinking I can't be doing this for too much longer.
"As I say things change and the new manager has come in and things have taken off. I'm loving it and it's great to get a goal and play a part in such a good team and be looking up the table."
City currently occupy 15th spot in the Championship table.
