The receivers currently in charge of Birmingham City's parent company, Birmingham International Holdings Limited, have declared Carson Yeung's emergency general meeting invalid.
Major shareholder Yeung called an EGM for tomorrow at which he wanted to reportedly remove any directors opposed to leadership.
BIHL's receivers, Ernst and Young, announced to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that Yeung's proposed EGM was invalid because he had failed to give an appropriate notice period.
Ernst and Young are in control of the board after seven directors stood down, two were removed and two others suspended earlier this week.
BIHL has been in receivership for almost a month because of "fractious and inharmonious relations within the management".
