Ian Holloway reveals relegation woe

Ian Holloway reveals how much Blackpool's relegation from the Premier League last season hurt him.

Ian Holloway has admitted that Blackpool's relegation from the Premier League last season was one of the lowest points of his life.

The Tangerines won a number of admirers for their style of football in the top flight.

However, they were demoted back to the Championship on the final day of the campaign following a 4-3 defeat at Manchester United.

Holloway has now revealed how much relegation hurt him, although he is now concentrating on bouncing back at the first time of asking.

"It was handling the disappointment, that was the biggest thing," he told The Times. "I didn't think I handled it that well. I don't think there were many times I have felt sorry for myself in my life, but I did after relegation.

"I had a bit of sulk on for a while and I never even had that when my daughters were diagnosed with being deaf. I didn't have time to - I just had to get on with it.

"I am out of that now and looking forward to the challenge."

Blackpool are currently fifth in the Championship table.
