Blackpool secretary Matt Williams has revealed that the club have ended their interest in signing midfielder Daylon Claasen.
The 23-year-old had been on trial at the Seasiders, but after the South African had turned down the club's initial contract offer, Williams has insisted that they were not prepared to go any higher.
Williams told the Blackpool Evening Gazette: "We made him a very decent offer, subject to him gaining a work permit, but he didn't accept.
"We'd only seen him play 20 minutes against Newcastle and in a training match at Preston, so we weren't prepared to go any higher. We wanted another look at him against Bury on Tuesday, but he didn't want to play."
Claasen had previously trained with Hull City and Celtic earlier in the summer.
