Bolton Wanderers defender Zat Knight has admitted that he was happy to make his return to the starting lineup against Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night.
Knight has been forced to watch from the sidelines as Bolton made their move up the Championship table, but the former Aston Villa man has insisted that he never queried his exclusion during his 11-game spell on the bench.
The 33-year-old told BBC Radio Manchester: "It was good to be out there. I am obviously disappointed with the result, but I am happy to get 90 minutes under my belt.
"Sometimes you have to hold your hands up. When you get older, you can understand when you see other players doing well.
"I am the club captain so I do give Matt Mills and Tim Ream encouragement after every game, patting them on the back and giving them a hug but hopefully, I can get a run in the team."
The former England international has made 13 appearances in all competitions this season.
