Preview: Bolton Wanderers vs. Huddersfield Town

Sports Mole previews the Championship match between Huddersfield Town and Bolton Wanderers, whose eight-match unbeaten run came to an end at the weekend.

Huddersfield Town travel to the Reebok Stadium on Wednesday to face Bolton Wanderers, searching for their third consecutive Championship victory.

The Terriers will be full of confidence having ended Burnley's 12-match unbeaten league run with a 2-1 win over the Clarets at the John Smith's Stadium on Saturday.

Bolton's own undefeated sequence was halted this weekend as they became the first side to lose to Aitor Karanka's Middlesbrough, but Dougie Freedman is not likely to make major changes to his team.

Newly-acquired loanee Joe Mason, who arrived on a temporary deal from Cardiff City this week, could be handed his first Trotters start after making a seven-minute cameo off the bench against Boro.

He is likely to be paired with former Terrier Jermaine Beckford, who scored nine goals during his spell with Huddersfield last season, in attack if Freedman opts to switch to a 4-4-2 formation.

In Beckford's absence, James Vaughan has shone for the Yorkshire outfit this term and is the division's joint-third top goalscorer with 10. Manager Mark Robins will choose between Sean Scannell and Martin Paterson as his strike partner.

Recent form:

Bolton: LWWWDD

Huddersfield: WWLLWL

Possible starting lineups:

Bolton: Lonergan; McNaughton, Ream, Baptiste, Mills; Spearing, Danns, Prately, Chung-Yong; Mason, Beckford

Huddersfield: Smithies; Smith, Lynch, Gerrard, Dixon; Hammill, Norwood, Clayton, Hogg, Vaughan, Scannell

Sports Mole says: 1-1
