Borussia Dortmund have reportedly identified AC Milan defender Ricardo Rodriguez as a transfer target ahead of the January window.
While the 27-year-old has made 89 appearances for Milan since the beginning of 2017-18, just four of those outings have come during the current campaign.
At a time when the Serie A giants may have to consider player sales in order to comply with FFP, it has left Rodriguez as a natural target ahead of the midway point in the campaign.
According to ESPN, Dortmund are interested in handing the left-back a chance to return to Germany, where he has previously impressed for Wolfsburg.
Rodriguez has just under two years left on his contract, which puts Milan in a position where they must begin to consider the future of the Switzerland international.
The player may express a desire to earn regular first-team football ahead of representing his country at Euro 2020.
