Southampton are reportedly in talks with Borussia Monchengladbach over the potential transfer of defender Jannik Vestergaard.
The two clubs are yet to agree on a fee for the Denmark World Cup squad member, according to Sky Sports News.
Earlier reports suggest that both the Saints and Everton were keeping tabs on Vestergaard, but Mark Hughes's side are said to have made contact with Monchengladbach.
Meanwhile, West Ham United are reportedly planning to table a bid of their own if Southampton are unable to broker a deal.
Vestergaard has three years remaining on his current contract.
