AFC Bournemouth lose £15.3m during Championship promotion season

AFC Bournemouth announce a loss of £15.3m during the financial year ending July 2013, the season in which they were promoted from League One.

AFC Bournemouth have announced that they made a loss of £15.3m during the season they were promoted from League One to the Championship.

The figure comes from the financial year ending July 2013 and represents a substantial increase from the £3.4m loss they announced for 2011-12.

"The club's future strategy is to become sustainable and forward-looking, implementing strategy that minimises both risk and exposure," the club's directors' report said.

The period of the loss came when Eddie Howe was brought back to the club as they secured promotion to the Championship.
