Callum Wilson signs new Bournemouth deal

Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson signs a new four-year contract with the Premier League club.

Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson has signed a new four-year contract with the Premier League club.

The 24-year-old joined Bournemouth from Coventry City in 2014 and hit 20 league goals during his first season with the Cherries as they secured promotion to the Premier League.

Wilson missed more than six months of the 2015-16 campaign with a serious knee injury, but the striker returned to action towards the end of the season and has been rewarded with a new contract.

"We're absolutely delighted that Callum has signed a new four-year deal. Callum has constantly improved during his time here and only his injury stopped him from having a big impact in the Premier League last year," chief executive Neill Blake told the club's official website.

"Now back to full fitness, we're excited to see Callum continue to improve over the next four years."

Wilson, who managed five Premier League goals in just seven appearances last season, had previously been linked with a move to West Ham United.
