Brentford are willing to pay £15m for Nottingham Forest's Brennan Johnson, according to a report.
The Bees have been actively trying to add further quality, and the 20-year-old attacking midfielder is someone who the club have been keeping tabs on throughout the month.
Several teams have been looking at the Welsh international, who has played 26 times in the Championship this season, where he has scored five goals.
According to the Daily Mail, Brentford are £3m short in their estimation for Johnson, with Nottingham requiring £18m in order to sell him, which would be a club record fee for the Premier League outfit.
The most they have paid for a player is £17.5m, which they spent in the summer on Kristoffer Ajer in order to buy him from Celtic.
Nottingham are also wanting a 15% sell-on-clause to be added into any potential deal for Johnson, which is something else that Brentford have to consider.
