Brentford move closer to breaking their transfer record for a second time this summer with the signing of Hull City's Keane Lewis-Potter, according to a report.

Brentford have moved closer to breaking their transfer record for a second time this summer with the signing of Hull City's Keane Lewis-Potter, according to a report.

The Bees already broke their club-record fee to bring in Aaron Hickey from Bologna on Saturday, with the defender joining for a fee of around £14m ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.

The Scotsman is the only new arrival ahead of Brentford's second season in the top flight, but Evening Standard are reporting that Lewis-Potter is closing in on a move to West London.

The report suggests that an initial fee of around £16m has been agreed with the Championship side, with the deal potentially rising to around £20m should certain add-ons be activated.

Following an impressive 2021-22 campaign in the second tier, Lewis-Potter had also reportedly attracted interest from the likes of West Ham United this summer, but the 21-year-old has reportedly been given permission to leave Hull's training camp in Turkey in order to complete a medical and finalise a move with Brentford.

The England Under-21s international started all of Hull's 46 Championship matches last season, scoring 12 goals and registering three assists to help the Tigers avoid relegation.
