Brighton & Hove Albion boss Gus Poyet says that Wolverhampton Wanderers did meet him but that he was "not involved" in discussions.

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Gus Poyet has revealed that Wolverhampton Wanderers did approach him over the managerial vacancy.

It emerged this week that the Championship manager could be a potential candidate for the Premier League role. However, Poyet has claimed that he was "not involved" in discussions over a move.

"There was an approach but it came and went," said Poyet. "I didn't have any decisions to make, anything to think about. I was not involved at all. It was not difficult for me, I was not involved at any time."

Meanwhile, former Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is believed to have re-entered the race for the job at Molineux.
