Tom Heaton has admitted that he is "absolutely delighted" to have been included in the latest England squad.
The Burnley goalkeeper is in the 24-man squad for next month's friendly against the Republic of Ireland and Euro 2016 qualifier against Slovenia.
The 29-year-old told the Burnley Express: "I'm absolutely delighted. You dream of it as a kid.
"After I found out on Tuesday night I woke up on Wednesday morning with an emotion of an extra impetus to keep getting better, keep improving and looking forward to the opportunity of actually getting there.
"It's all been about the improvement and the progress and that's certainly not changed. It's a nice accolade to be called-up to the England squad but I still want more and I will still be striving for more."
Manchester City's Joe Hart and Queens Park Rangers stopper Robert Green are the other goalkeepers included in the squad.
