Andre Schurrle hopeful over Chelsea place

Andre Schurrle hopes that his good performance in the Champions League can help him keep a spot in the Chelsea first team.

Chelsea winger Andre Schurrle has expressed his desire to retain a spot in the starting XI following his performance in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The German put in a good showing for the Blues as they recovered from an opening defeat in the group to smash Steaua Bucuresti 4-0 in Romania.

Schurrle received praise for his display from manager Jose Mourinho after the match, and he is hoping that he has done enough to warrant keeping his place.

"We were the better team from the first minute and we played with confidence," Schurrle told the media.

"I always want to start so that is good and I want to try and keep helping the team."

Chelsea travel to Norwich City in the Premier League on Sunday.
