Christian Eriksen: 'We have shown how to beat Chelsea'

Christian Eriksen insists that Tottenham can still draw confidence from their New Year's Day victory over Chelsea ahead of the Capital One Cup final at Wembley.

Christian Eriksen has insisted that Tottenham Hotspur can still draw confidence from their New Year's Day victory over Chelsea ahead of the Capital One Cup final.

Spurs shocked the Premier League leaders with a 5-3 win at White Hart Lane two months ago, with Harry Kane scoring twice to add to Nacer Chadli, Danny Rose and Andros Townsend goals.

Eriksen has admitted that knowing that they can beat the Blues, who are odds-on favourites to lift the trophy with most bookmakers, will give Spurs great belief of a repeat performance at Wembley tomorrow afternoon.

"If you have a team that scores five goals from six chances it is difficult to live with," he is quoted as saying by The Express.

"The confidence we take from that game is the most important thing. We showed we can play against them and beat them.

"We played a few games before that we tried and did not succeed, but we showed now that we can do it again."

Tottenham's Kane-inspired victory in January was their only win over Chelsea in the club's last 11 encounters.
