Chelsea break Premier League record in Thomas Tuchel's first game

Chelsea may have been held to a goalless draw by Wolverhampton Wanderers in Thomas Tuchel's first game, but the German coach set a couple of records in the stalemate.

Chelsea broke a couple of Premier League records on Wednesday evening in their 0-0 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Thomas Tuchel's first game in charge of the Blues may have ended goalless, but the German coach was quick to put his mark on his new side.

The West London outfit had 78.9% possession and completed 820 passes, which is the highest tally recorded in both categories in a manager's first Premier League game since records began in 2003-04.

Tuchel had just one training session to prepare for the Wolves game, having only been appointed as Frank Lampard's successor on the eve of the match.

The 47-year-old has now seen his sides keep a clean sheet in each of their past four league games - three for former club Paris Saint-Germain and one for Chelsea.

Wednesday's stalemate leaves Tuchel's men eighth in the Premier League, five points adrift of a Champions League spot.
