Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo insists that he is happy with Fernando Torres's contribution to the side this season.

Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo has insisted that he has no problems over Fernando Torres's form this season.

Despite having scored six goals during the current campaign, the Spanish striker received some criticism for his performance in Tuesday's Champions League defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk.

However, Di Matteo believes that Torres has been integral to the club's ascent to the top of the Premier League table.

"I have no concerns about Fernando. He always works hard for the team and, whether he scores or not, he's always contributing," said the Italian.

"Sometimes he gets more chances, sometimes less. But he's been scoring goals, he's been making goals, and we can't expect him to be scoring every game."

Torres is expected to start for the Blues when they welcome Manchester United to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Sunday.
