Cesc Fabregas: 'Getting a result against West Ham United is vital'

Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas believes that a win against West Ham United this evening could prove "vital" in the Premier League title race.

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas believes that gaining all three points against West Ham United is "vital" for the club's season.

Jose Mourinho's side currently lead the way at the top of the Premier League table, with a five-point advantage over Manchester City.

The Blues have a game in hand following Sunday's League Cup final win, and Fabregas believes that Chelsea can only "relax" if they get a positive result against the Hammers.

"We're focused, we want to win [and] we're confident if we can play well, we'll do it," Fabregas told Sky Sports News. "We can't have over-confidence, we need to know what we want to do.

"It's important to get the three points because then we can relax and focus on the Champions League. Tonight's game is vital for what can happen in the future."

Chelsea have not been beaten by West Ham since 2012.
