Ruben Loftus-Cheek hails "amazing" full debut

Ruben Loftus-Cheek says that he has a good chance of breaking into Chelsea's first-team plans after making his full debut for the club against Liverpool.

Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has spoken of his delight after making his full debut for the club.

The 19-year-old started his first Premier League match for the Blues as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Liverpool on Sunday.

He has been tipped to break into the club's first team by manager Jose Mourinho and he has claimed that the experience makes him want to work even harder to achieve his goals.

"It was amazing to be playing at Stamford Bridge with the stadium full," The Express quotes Loftus-Cheek as saying. "I have only experienced that for a few minutes when I came on as a substitute against Sporting Lisbon earlier this season.

"For me it was a big experience to take on and after that I want to work so much harder to push and push. Playing with some of the best players in the world, you're going to get better every day. It's important for me to work hard and give 100 per cent in training to try to improve. I think I have a good chance, if I work hard.

"It was amazing to be in the starting lineup. I was having to mark a good player in [Philippe] Coutinho and try and keep him quiet. I had to be at my best."

Loftus-Cheek captained Chelsea's Under-18 side to FA Youth Cup glory last season.
