Brendan Rodgers expecting "tough challenge" from Chelsea

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers insists that Chelsea will pose a "tough challenge" to his side despite having already won the Premier League title.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that Chelsea will pose a "tough challenge" to his side this afternoon despite having already won the Premier League title.

The hosts have made five changes to their starting lineup for the match at Stamford Bridge, including handing a first senior start to young midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Liverpool realistically need to win to stay in the race for a top-four spot, but Rodgers is expecting Chelsea to make things difficult for his side.

"Whatever team they put out, they will be looking to win. We know it will be a tough challenge for us," he told reporters before the team news was released.

Liverpool are currently seven points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester United with three games of their season remaining.
