Fernando Torres delighted by Spain recall

Fernando Torres reveals that he is delighted with his return to the Spain squad ahead of the Confederations Cup.

Fernando Torres has revealed that he is delighted with his recall to the Spain squad for the upcoming Confederations Cup.

The striker was overlooked by coach Vicente del Bosque for the world champions' last three matches, but his improved form for Chelsea at the end of last season has seen him included once again.

"I was not in the last two squads and you always know it's very difficult to get a place," Torres is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard.

"It's not easy, there are a lot of colleagues who are doing well but the end of the season was very good for my team and me. I was hoping to return, and now I'm hoping to play and train and continue doing things well."

Torres scored 23 goals in all competitions for Chelsea during the last campaign.
