AC Milan have reportedly upped their efforts to sign Brazilian winger Bernard.
The 25-year-old is available on a free transfer this summer due to his contract expiring at Shakhtar Donetsk, and Chelsea are allegedly keen to bring in the playmaker.
However, according to Premium Sport, Milan are ready to rival the Premier League outfit, with Bernard's agent having travelled to Italy to hold discussions with the club.
Milan are restricted in the transfer market this summer due to their current situation with FFP, leaving the possible acquisition of Bernard on a free as an attractive option.
The report suggests that Bernard is in no rush to make a final decision on his future, with a deal being able to be reached outside of the window.
Bernard scored 28 goals in 157 appearances during his five-year spell with Shakhtar.
