Chelsea inadvertently announce the permanent signing of Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid after posting an interview with the player on their official club app.

Chelsea appear to have revealed the permanent capture of Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic on their official club app.

The Croatia international spent last season on loan with the Blues and has been tipped to join on a full-time basis this summer.

Official confirmation of Kovacic's move to Stamford Bridge has not yet been given, but an interview with the 25-year-old to coincide with his £40m arrival was published by Chelsea on Saturday evening.

The interview, which included Kovacic discussing how "amazing" it feels to have completed the switch, was swiftly taken down, but not before it was screenshotted and posted on social media.

Chelsea are under a two-window transfer embargo, though they have been given the green light to add the 25-year-old to their squad as an arrangement with Madrid was put in place last year.
