Chelsea join Liverpool in chase for winger Hatem Ben Arfa?

A report claims that Nice winger Hatem Ben Arfa, previously linked with a move to Liverpool, is now also wanted by Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Chelsea are the latest club to have shown an interest in signing former Newcastle United winger Hatem Ben Arfa from French side Nice, according to a report.

The 29-year-old, who departed the Premier League in disappointing circumstances last year, is also said to be wanted by a trio of other clubs including Liverpool.

Recent reports suggest that the Reds lead the race to sign the Frenchman, although The Sun claims that Chelsea are now also in the hunt for his signature.

Ben Arfa has found the net 16 times in 30 appearances for Nice this term, helping his side up to fourth place in Ligue 1, which is in stark contrast to his latter years at St James' Park.

A promising start to life in the North-East was soon forgotten about when the soon-to-be out-of-contract star was sent on loan to Hull City, before being shipped out permanently midway through last season.

It is claimed that Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund are also interested in Ben Arfa, who is available to leave on a free at the end of the campaign.
