Chelsea are reportedly determined to bring West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice to Stamford Bridge during this summer's transfer window.
The 21-year-old, who represented Chelsea as a youth player between 2006 and 2014, has been in impressive form for the struggling Hammers during the 2019-20 campaign.
The England international has a contract at the London Stadium until June 2024, but he continues to be linked with a move away from David Moyes's side due to their struggles this season.
According to The Sun, Chelsea want Rice to 'lead their defence' next term, with Blues boss Frank Lampard keen to sign the youngster and deploy him at the heart of a back three.
The report claims that the capital giants believe that a bid in the region of £45m would be enough to sign the Englishman, particularly if West Ham are relegated to the Championship.
Rice has contributed two assists in 32 Premier League appearances during the 2019-20 campaign.
