Chelsea on brink of Mario Pasalic sale?

Chelsea are allegedly on the brink of confirming Mario Pasalic's permanent switch to Atalanta BC.

Atalanta BC are allegedly close to confirming the permanent transfer of Chelsea midfielder Mario Pasalic.

The Croatia international has been on loan at the Serie A outfit since 2018, contributing 14 goals from 70 appearances in all competitions.

Although the 25-year-old's stock has significantly increased during his time at Atalanta, Chelsea set an option of £13.5m when allowing the player to leave Stamford Bridge on a temporary basis.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Atalanta will push through a full-time deal for Pasalic as soon as possible.

Should terms be finalised over the coming days and weeks, it will suit both parties, especially Atalanta, who will be aware that they have the option of making a quick profit on Pasalic should they receive a bigger offer.

However, having paid just £3m for Pasalic in 2014, Chelsea will be making a profit of over £10m without the player ever representing the Blues in a competitive fixture.
